We're heading to Oasis Restaurant for mini-golf and, if you wish, food and drink after First Friday adoration on June 4. Restaurant and golf course is located at 2355 Schoenersville Road in Hanover Township, less than a mile north of Route 22 at the Schoenersville Road exit. Figure about 8 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Lace up and join ABCYA for the annual Walk For A Healthy Community Day on June 12 in downtown Bethlehem. What's neat about this walk is you can raise funds to benefit your choice of 23 charitable organizations that make the Lehigh Valley a better place to live. Review the list and you will see, even as many of the organizations are secular, they are clearly doing the Lord's work. So the cause is yours.

We will meet between 8-9 a.m. in downtown Bethlehem at Main and Lehigh streets. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. (you can register online now) and the 5K walk begins at 9 a.m. Here is a map of the route. For lightweights, there is an alternative one-mile fun walk at 9:15 a.m.

Refreshments are provided. After we finish, we'll enjoy brunch at a downtown deli/cafe to be named later.

Raise $25 and you get a free T-shirt. Raise you $50 and you can enter a raffle.

Here is the update on our Manhattan pilgrimage.

We'll meet about 8:20 a.m. Saturday, June 26 at the park-and-ride lot on William Penn Highway in Bethlehem Township, off Route 33. We'll take the 8:40 a.m. bus for a 10:30 a.m. arrival in NYC. (If that's too early, another bus runs 9:40 a.m.)

The highlight is visiting St. Patrick's Cathedral in Midtown. A colleague from our NYC Catholic young adults group will be our tour guide. He has agreed to have lunch with us thereafter.

Time permitting, we'll also hit other Catholic landmarks: St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, The Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and The Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

We'll navigate as we go. For the record, Cabrini is way up in northern Manhattan, St. Pat's is in midtown, and the other three are downtown. Assuming we hit all five, we can take subways to alleviate long stretches while walking the remainder.

I suggest hopping a subway to hit Cabrini first, return midtown for St. Pat's, have lunch, then finish the journey. We'll call it a day when we're ready. Buses leave NYC to the Lehigh Valley frequently in the afternoon and evening.

A round-trip ticket to NYC via Trans-Bridge costs $37. I will purchase, you can reimburse me. If you cancel a reservation, I need to know by Thursday, June 24. I plan to purchase tickets Friday, June 25.

So get ready for some spiritual, cultural and physical nourishment!

We will gather at my house on Tuesday July 13th at 7pm and bring out our creativity and make some cards to send to some of our servicemen ,some members in the group know folks that our serving our country and will send the cards to them. Faith Sharing is held every Thursday at Assumption BVM Church Bethlehem PA 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike Bethlehem PA 18015. We are currently studying the Catholic Church's teaching on essential issues including the Sanctity of Life, Papal Infalibility, Marian Doctrines etc.
These sessions use the Bible, Church Teaching as well as writings of the Fathers to explain the Church's teachings. We would like to see you there.

Jerry and Veronica recently attended their Engaged Encounter Retreat and had a wonderful experience. They were very inspired by their retreat and the whole Pre Canna Process and would like to share their experience and insights with the group.
Pre Canna is required for everyone who plans to get married in the Catholic Church. It may either be taken in individual sessions at the parish or through a retreat. Jerry and Veronica would like to discuss their experience so far as they prepare for their wedding.
